Abstract:

In the performance evaluation process, using the classic data envelopment analysis (DEA) models, decision making units (DMUs) are considered as black boxes. While in many cases and different applications such as investment funds, banks, insurance companies, etc., DMUs have a network structure. In addition, in many network structures, some of the indicators used to calculate the efficiency of DMUs have an undesirable nature. Therefore, it is necessary to provide an effective approach that takes into account the internal structure of the DMus and the inter-organizational relationships in the calculation of efficiency and also is capable to be used in the presence of undesirable data. Accordingly, the purpose of the present study is to provide a network data envelopment analysis (NDEA) model in order to performance assessment of DMUs with a two-stage structure in the presence of undesirable outputs. It should be noted that according to the two-stage structure of investment companies and the presence of undesirable output in their evaluation process, ten investment companies from Tehran Stock Exchange have been selected as a case study for the research. Finally, the results of their performance evaluation by applying the proposed approach of research have been analyzed.

Performance Measurement ‎T‎echniques In the Presence of Undesirable Products

Performance measurement with undesirable outputs is an important subject in production processes. There are papers in which works can be divided into two groups. First group develops production models which undesirable outputs are considered as inputs and in second one undesirable outputs are modeled as outputs. We provide a comparison between these two groups and we axiomatically show that pro...

Measuring the overall performances of decision-making units in the presence of imprecise data

Data envelopment analysis (DEA) is a method for measuring the relative efficiencies of a set of decision-making units (DMUs) that use multiple inputs to produce multiple outputs. In this paper, we study the measurement of DMU performances in DEA in situations where input and/or output values are given as imprecise data. By imprecise data we mean situations where we only know that the actual val...

the effects of changing roughness on the flow structure in the bends

flow in natural river bends is a complex and turbulent phenomenon which affects the scour and sedimentations and causes an irregular bed topography on the bed. for the reason, the flow hydralics and the parameters which affect the flow to be studied and understand. in this study the effect of bed and wall roughness using the software fluent discussed in a sharp 90-degree flume bend with 40.3cm ...
